Eco vacation rentals on the Santa Fe River northwest of Gainesville, Florida

The Lazy Turtle Lodge, where life is "slow and easy",  is a beautiful privately owned 10 acre estate on the Santa Fe River (located between High Springs and Fort White, Florida). Amidst oaks, cypress, and hammocks this little "piece of heaven" offers ecotourism vacation rentals in the form of "glamping" - glamour camping. If you are looking to get away from the stress of city and corporate life and love nature - then this is the place you want to come.  Turtle Heaven and Turtle Palace are the two rental units that are available and are located 400 ft  from the edge of the beautiful Santa Fe River down a lovely country lane   The Santa Fe River flows 75 miles from Lake Santa Fe, goes underground at Oleno State Park and flows out again at River Rise. It continues to flow lazily down and meets up with the Ichetucknee River and then the Suwanee River which then flows happily out to the Gulf of Mexico.  The Santa Fe River is a tanic, darkwater river that is spring fed and sits over the Floridan Aquifer - one of the largest aquifers in the country home to one of the most unique cave systems in the world.  Cave divers come from all over the world to dive these magnificent caves.

The Lazy Turtle Lodge sits on the Santa Fe River between Poe Springs and Ginnie Springs with fast access to Rum Island Springs and Blue Springs.

Activities include; kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, cave diving, spring hunting, fishing or  simply sitting in your rocking chair watching the river go by listening to the sounds of nature. Deer, wild turkeys, turtles and otters can often be viewed.
